Around the World in 80 Minutes

"Around the World in 80 Minutes" takes audiences on a vibrant musical journey across continents and cultures. From the rich harmonies of German and Hungarian works to the spirited dances of Spain and Mexico, and from the ceremonial grandeur of England’s Pomp and Circumstance to the beauty of Brazilian cellos, the program showcases a kaleidoscope of sound. Highlights include Italian Cinema Paradiso, Mozart’s Austrian charm, Schubert’s lyrical Trout Quintet, China’s Spring Festival Overture, and folk-inspired and contemporary pieces from Ireland and beyond, celebrating the world’s diverse musical traditions.

Adding to the evening’s artistry, acclaimed cellist Walter Haman will perform Saint-Saëns’ Cello Concerto No. 1 , a dazzling and expressive work beloved for its elegance and fiery virtuosity. Tap your feet to Irish Fiddling with Lindsay Davis, and experience the cinematic Mangani Concert Piece for two clarinets, featuring UVS artists Michael Sausedo and Catelyn Gentry.
