"Around the World in 80 Minutes" takes audiences on a vibrant musical journey across continents and cultures. From the rich harmonies of German and Hungarian works to the spirited dances of Spain and Mexico, and from the ceremonial grandeur of England’s Pomp and Circumstance to the beauty of Brazilian cellos, the program showcases a kaleidoscope of sound. Highlights include Italian Cinema Paradiso, Mozart’s Austrian charm, Schubert’s lyrical Trout Quintet, China’s Spring Festival Overture, and folk-inspired and contemporary pieces from Ireland and beyond, celebrating the world’s diverse musical traditions.

Join the Utah Valley Symphony, Wasatch Chorale, and soloists Julia Gershkoff, Kirsten Chavez, Isaac Hurtado, and Seth Keeton for a powerful and uplifting evening of symphonic music, culminating in one of the greatest masterpieces ever written: Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9. This monumental work brings together orchestra, soloists, and chorus in a triumphant celebration of joy, unity, and the shared human spirit. From its dramatic opening to the unforgettable “Ode to Joy,” Beethoven’s Ninth remains a thrilling and deeply moving experience for performers and audiences alike.

The program opens with Copland’s Fanfare for the Common Man, a bold tribute to everyday heroes, filled with noble brass and resonant percussion. Bernstein’s Three Dance Episodes from On the Town adds energy and sparkle, capturing the rhythm and excitement of New York City with jazz-infused melodies and vibrant orchestration. Together, these works create an evening that is both exhilarating and profoundly inspiring—a concert that celebrates hope, community, and the joy of live music.

Experience an unforgettable evening of music with the Utah Valley Symphony as we present a program of passion, power, and beauty. Under the baton of Dr. Cheung Chau, the orchestra will bring to life Mahler’s Symphony No. 1, a sweeping masterpiece filled with energy, lyricism, and brilliance. This landmark symphony, often called “Titan,” takes audiences on a journey from pastoral landscapes to triumphant finales. 

Adding to the evening’s artistry, acclaimed cellist Walter Haman will perform Saint-Saëns’ Cello Concerto No. 1 , a dazzling and expressive work beloved for its elegance and fiery virtuosity. Don’t miss this chance to experience two monumental works performed with passion and precision by Utah Valley’s own symphony orchestra.

The 2026 Young Artists Concert celebrates the exceptional talent of the winners of the 2026 Concerto Competition as they take the stage with the Utah Valley Symphony. Highlights include Saint-Saëns’ beloved Carnival of the Animals, along with selected movements from works by Poulenc, Mozart, Vivaldi, Burch, and other celebrated composers.
